The Energy of Home

Born in Louisville, Kentucky at the crux of her Mars DC and Uranus IC, Nikki grew up dreaming of life in a big city like New York to be seen as a performer and live the life of an artist that had always been a dream. For the first 18 years of her life, Nikki never felt like she fit in. The energy of Uranus IC led to a craving to be different – constantly evolving, shapeshifting, transforming into the person she felt like she had to be.

The Mars line led to a life driven by movement – ambition, drive, and the pursuing of a pre-professional dance career. She grew up with perfectionist tendency and the desire the be liked by everyone around her. As she grew older, she let go of the need to be perfect in order to create space for a deep self love and appreciation for where she is at in this moment. While growing up, Nikki always wanted to escape her hometown, she now returns back with greater clarity and the feeling that her first home will always be a place to return to when needing to connect deeply to herself.

The Energy of the Present

Currently residing in Brooklyn, New York, Nikki is situated just to the left of her Chiron AC line. As a Scorpio rising and Chiron in her first house, she is not stranger to the energy of the wounded warrior. Nikki finds the energy of this line supportive to her life’s work of healing, introspection, and esoteric studies. Although, the constant healing and exploration of the shadow can be exhausting at times, she finds solace in her daily rituals of meditation, yoga, and journaling and finds that after periods of shadow, she is able to more easily access the light in her everyday.

A Piece of Advice from Nikki

Even if you feel like you can’t travel intentional about bringing in energy through other ways. Astrogeography isn’t just for travel or moving and can support your without needing anything else.

Allowing Intuition to Guide Nikki to the Sun

Nikki has been called to Mexico for as long as she can remember and after living there for 8 months between 2022-23, there’s a good reason why. Mexico City is situated near her Sun DC line, a line known for fame, fun, and flirtation. Since 2021, Nikki has been using her intuition to guide her to live nomadically in places ranging from Hawaii, Guatemala, Mexico City, and New York.

“Looking back I can see the places i’ve been intuitively called to, there’s always an associated line of energy. Living in Mexico City and experiencing the feeling of expansion of magnetism that I knew was associate with the Sun line but I didn’t actually believe I’d feel is the thing that made me believe in astrogeography. It sounds cheesy, but I felt famous when I first got to the city. I walked off the plane and immediately felt like everyone’s head turned towards me.”

Nikki’s time living near her Sun DC line felt like a movie. It was the most seen she had ever felt in her entire life. It was a time when she went on a lot of dates, enjoyed glasses of natural wine with friends most nights, and where she allowed herself to be in the vibrance of life and herself. At times, this felt surface level and when she wanted to retreat, she felt resistance but overall it was a time where she came into herself and basked in the light she offers to the world.

Eventually, Nikki felt the call to return to New York and find deeper community, roots, and healing but she will always consider Mexico City as the place she found herself and a place she will return to with gratitude and eagerness.

Mexico City Recommendations

“I feel like all I did in Mexico City was walk around, bask in the beautiful sunlight, and eat delicious food. I loved spending all afternoon wandering with no destination popping into places, grabbing a coffee and one too many conchas de chocolate, and meeting up with friends for an early afternoon glass of natural wine. There are endless restaurants to visits, museums to peruse, and neighborhoods to explore but I think the magic of Mexico City lies in the mundane – the early morning light, laughs and smiles of the street vendors, grabbing vegetables at the mercado on the way home. I lived in Mexico City for a little over seven months and will always feel like a part of me is left there. It taught me how to appreciate life and I hope that if you visit, you will do the same.”
